First I staged a little photo shoot on my driveway and asked Miya to pose as if she was giving me something... this took a few takes (ok about 30!) but we got there eventually.
then I altered the image to black and white...
I
attached this to the front of the card with double sided tape on each
side, then cut two slits above and below her fist, because of the size
of the candy cane I had to make this larger than I wanted, but it still
looks great.
I used plain white, square card blanks from Hobbycraft,
they're a really reasonable price for a pack of 50. I tied a little bow
with my much loved bakers twine and then stamped the inside, dated the
back and wrote my messages.
Instead
of using the envelopes that came with the card blanks I opted to use
some candy striped paper bags, like the kind you get from an old
fashioned sweet shop, added a couple of stamps and off they go on their
travels!
Here's a sneaky peek at Miya's princess cards that she wrote to her friends at school, how cute! Love the butterfly stickers!I hope you are enjoying the festive season, where ever you are! If you'd like to swap cards, I'd love to hear from you, just email me your address and I'll pop one in the post to you. You can reach me at neverplainjanie(at)gmail(dot)com
